GBTA EXTENDS AN INVITATION TO CHINA

The Guild of Business Travel Agents has extended and improved the sponsorship opportunities for its 2004 annual conference, to be held at the Grand Hyatt, Shanghai from May 7-10 next spring.

“While we have always welcomed sponsor participation at our prestigious annual gathering, we felt that suppliers would be particularly interested in stepping up their promotional activities for the Shanghai event,” says GBTA chief executive Philip Carlisle.

“China represents one of the business travel world's greatest potential markets.  One has only to look at the growth in internal air travel – increasing at an annual rate of between 20 and 30 per cent – to see the pent-up demand for travel products and services.”

To ensure sponsors accrue maximum benefit from their participation, three sponsorship categories – silver, gold and platinum – are available.  Sponsorship packages start at £3,000, with incentives ranging from a simple listing on conference materials to the opportunity to host major events and provide platform speakers.

“The GBTA conference is always very well attended, with an impressive range of business and seminar sessions, and a full social programme of networking opportunities,” says Carlisle.  “The fact that 2004's meeting is being held in such an exciting location is bound to provoke greater-than-usual interest.”
