New to the business travel industry?

This online course, designed for those who have recently begun working in business travel, consists of nine modules followed by multiple-choice questions to test your understanding. Upon successful completion of the course the candidate will receive a certificate from the GTMC.

The modules are:

• Basics of business travel - the travel industry is full of jargon - three letter codes abound. Here you can unravel the mystery and enable yourself to be confident in your dealings with your corporate clients.  

• Business travel geography - one of the interesting things about working as a business travel consultant is that you never know where your client might want to go! This is the perfect module for broadening your geographical knowledge.

• Business travel insurance - probably the most important module in the course. Insurance is a means of providing financial compensation in the event of an accident or other misfortune.  Read all you need to know about insurance.

• Discounted air fares - the amount spent on transportation will form the largest part of a corporate client's overall travel budget. This module tells you all you need to know about discounted air fares.
• Foreign exchange and handling credit, debit cards - everybody who travels abroad will need money to spend. Learn all about rates of exchange, calculating currency exchange and travellers' cheques. 
• Hotels and other accommodation - dealing with requests from corporate clients for accommodation is a key part of any travel itinerary. This essential module covers every angle of accommodation including room rates and food.
• Passports, visas and health - it is extremely important that business travellers have the correct documentation for the country or countries they intend to visit.

• Vehicle carrying services - most business travellers fly to their destination, however there are many different methods that can be chosen. In this module you learn about all the different routes including rail and car ferries.
